A good start: warmth and light
Warm sowing can be done indoors or in a heated greenhouse. After germination, every seedling needs enough light. A dark attic needs grow lights. An unheated greenhouse can become very cold at night: measure the temperature and check the advice for your crop.

- Germination and temperature
- Laat pootgoed licht, koel en vorstvrij voorkiemen. Wacht buiten op geschikte grond.
- After emergence
- Houd kiemen kort en stevig met voldoende licht. Bescherm jong loof tegen vorst.
- Pricking out and potting on
- Niet verspenen: dit is een knollenteelt uit pootgoed.
- Hardening off and planting out
- Poot vroege en latere typen volgens het schema van het pootgoed. Bescherm jonge scheuten bij nachtvorst.
Pootgoed is geen zaad. Een donkere warme zolder maakt lange, kwetsbare kiemen.
